I'm totally watching the Negotiator with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey right now. I don't know what it is about these "TNT new classic" movies but they are awesome. I was reading this article by Kevin Smith in GQ (we have it around at work for guys who are waiting for their girls to shop) and it made sense. You see the same bad movie (or parts of it) over and over again, and it either becomes a favorite TV movie or something you HAVE to see all the way through.
I think you can always find something you like about a bad TV movie, and then if it's on again, you'll probably watch it just to see that something again...it becomes your little inside joke with the television. There's even something comforting about the editing done for television. Everyone knows what's really being said, but we must protect the virgin ears of the childrans, even at 12:50 am on a Friday.
Sometimes, if a movie on TV is so good-bad, I'll watch till the end even if it's only ten minutes or so. Like last night, I had to watch the end of Cruel Intentions when I stumbled upon it on ABC Family of all channels. Next up was Down To Earth with Chris Rock. Yup, I watched the whole thing. Sometimes, your bad movies get even better. Like when you realize a bad movie you used to watch has all kinds of actors in it who have since become much more well-known.
So anyway, when I flipped onto The Negotiator at 10:50pm in what looked to be the final moments, I decided to flip away, assuming (correctly) that they would have an "encore presentation" in ten minutes. Well, I'm here to tell you that it payed off...big time.

now, maybe it's my love affair with sam jackson talking, but i thought the negotiator was a good-good movie. it's got that perfect blend of suspense and drama.
but i don't know, i just shaved off all the hair around my nipples, so i might be a little delusional right now.
