All that said, I love being a mommy! He is so sweet and precious, I can't stop watching him, and all he does is sleep. I want to be able to do more with him, but I also want him to stay this way forever!

One week
Baby Jack turned one week old on Monday. I thought the occasion deserved my actually getting dressed. Things have been wonderful and overwhelming! People always talk about how difficult labor can be, but they don't always mention how difficult the first weeks can be. I guess that's because what you really remember are the good times spent with you baby. But I feel totally unprepared and by the end of each day I'm wiped. Thank goodness it's bedtime and I can sleep, right? Wrong. All of a sudden the baby who sleeps for 5 hours at a time during the day (sometimes) won't close his eyes until midnight!

Oh that picture is adorable!! Congratulations Sweetie! He is just the cutest little guy.
I think the reason people don't mention the craziness of the first few weeks is because they get accustom to the new lifestyle pretty quickly but always remember how much the baby slept during that brief time. He may not sleep when you want him to but he will definitely give you more of a break now than you will get later :) I know you read it everywhere but this really does help with your sanity: nap when he naps and forget about laundry and chores. They will get done eventually. I can't wait to hear more about his little budding personality.
hes sticking his tongue out at us
