It's finally cooling off outside and the weather in the morning is just right to sit on our porch and drink that coffee. Only trouble is we've got new neighbors directly across from us and they are major porch people. I wish I were the type of person who felt no anxiety about sitting on my own porch when the neighbors are out...but I am not. I am not your friendly neighbor. I'm polite and I smile and wave, but I don't stay and talk. Plus, the woman has one of those really annoying laughs where she just kind of audibly sucks in air with a couple of chuckles thrown in here or there for good measure. I don't think I could be friends with someone who suck-laughs.
For now I guess I'll just have to settle for having the windows open...maybe I can sneak out when they go back inside.

I am trying to envision someone suck-laughing.
I'm the same as you, my neighbors think I am a total snob because I don't go to their houses for coffee in the morning or share a good obituary or menopause story in passing.
Act like you're hyperventilating then throw a couple "huh-huhs" in the middle. She's quite a vision...very animated too.
wait, is it like this chick?
