Baby step to 4 o' clock...

I'm exhausted. Kids are so cute...they are so sweet and loving, they just want to please you and be liked by you...except when they're in a raging pack of 27. Then, they are mean and snarly, and they just want to ignore you and make you cry. Yeah, I'm hating my final semester of school. Luckily, this week has definitely gone by fast. It really figures, you know...top off this wonderful college tour with an extraodinarily bad four months. It's really all I can do right now not to break down in a fit of weepy tears and snot-filled sobs. I know...so attractive. Maybe this is the step in the process where they brainwash you to transform into a psychotic, babbling, jumper-wearing, goofy-pin-bearing, singing, dancing, high-bun-sporting freak before they hand over the keys to your very own classroom...ooooh...I really hope so!

64 Helens agree

It was a great night for midnight sledding. We began in the woods where we were hoping for an appearance from the moon...this never happened. So we made our way over to pinery park with dogs in tow. We had a great time, even after they shut off the lights. Short movie to come soon!

Is that spelled 'Lance' or 'Lants'?

Check out this funny 30 second video:

Pants

It's an addiction

I can't help it! I know they're stupid and meaningless, but every time I come across one on someone else's blog I just have to take the quiz. I found this one here while I was checking out who commented on the infamous breastfeeding post.

My life is rated R!

Your life is rated R!

What is your life rated? (MPAA Scale)

Take Other Caffeine Nebula Quizzes

What really makes me laugh is the way I get angry or feel dejected when I get a result that is not true (I don't think it's true anyway). Like this one, my life is so not R rated. I even went back and changed the few answers that I was on the fence for and I still got an R rating. I guess if you really think about it, everyone's life would be rated R if it were presented unedited.

For the fans

I realize I'm running the risk of being pigeon-holed here, but after watching a certain show on FOX tonight, I simply must comment. I'm not really sure what my expectations (if I had any) of this show were, but, OH...MY...GOD...it really was awful. I was pleasantly surprised by the skating skills of Jillian Barberie and even Kristy Swanson. While it was fun to see "ordinary" people learning how difficult the sport is, it was kind of depressing to see Scott Hamilton and the like in this fashion. The rink was custom built and tiny, although they were moving so slow that the small size was necessary. The pacing was strange, yet familiar, and even the "judging" was all hyped up. They basically had the Simon, Paula, and Randy of the figure skating world (although I never would have categorized them as such) seated rinkside to comment after the performances. They were even sitting in the same order as the American Idol judges. Overall, it was fun and of course I'll be watching more, but still...I think it was a sad day for skating in America.

The thrill of victory...

Wow...I'm really excited by all the blogging activity going on in our little circle lately. Also exciting to me, all the spectacular figure skating action that's going on. Michelle Kwan withdrew from this year's Nationals because of a groin injury. This being an Olympic year, there is much discussion surrounding her right now. Skaters qualify for the Olympics by placing in the top 2 or 3 (depending on the number of spots available) at Nationals in the same year. Michelle Kwan has been to Nationals 14 times and has won the U.S. title 9 times, which ties the most National titles ever. She is an amazing athlete and has been extremely consistent throughout her career. Before the night is over, the International Committee of U.S. Figure Skating will decide whether Kwan's impressive record warrants a spot on the 2006 U.S.A Olympic Team. In my humble opinion, I say send her to Torino. The United States has never had a better competitor in this sport and she is our best chance of winning the Olympic Gold in Ladies Figure Skating. As I know you are all waiting with baited breath...I will update as soon as I hear the decision!

I'm gonna have a port-a-potty and name it "Elimination Station"

Played Texas hold 'em tonight. I'm no good. I yelled...I screamed...I laughed at my own private jokes. It was fun. Next up...a toss up...between Gladiator and Amadeus...who will win? Gladiator it is. Saw Brokeback Mountain this weekend...it was good...a gay man yelled out "This movie is SICK!!" at the man/woman sex scene which involved boobs. That's it.

Can I get my punk ass off the street?

Well, my 'vacation' is almost over, tomorrow I start back at Happy Valley for two days, then it's off to student teaching I go. It actually did turn out to be somewhat of a vacation for this last week or so. I even had a few whole days off...and they made me feel lazy. With the beginning of my last undergraduate semester of college, I will begin my countdown:

16 weeks until graduation!!

Yeah!! I'm not sure whether or not I want to participate in all the graduation festivities-mainly walking in the graduation ceremonies. On one hand, it's been 7 long years and I feel as though I should experience this event to it's fullest extent...you know, get the most out of my money. On the other hand, it's been 7 long years, I'm just ready to be done, and I don't really have any particular attachment to, or fond recollections of the institution. Maybe I'll just wait and see what the cost will be.

One thing I am sure of is the party that will be held after graduation!! I'm planning it now, so any suggestions would be appreciated (it's on Mom and Dad, so go wild).

News and stuff

Have I told you how much I hate Suzanne Geha?? Well I do, and let me tell why in the form of a list:

1. She looks like a frickin' bird, people.
2. She is freakishly and manly tall (yeah I've seen her in person).
3. She ad libs during the news...mostly by explaining things that need not be explained.
4. She makes stupid jokes, laughs at them by herself, and carries them on much longer than is tolerable even by her co-anchors.
5. She acts like, especially now that Tom Van Howe is gone, she's the queen of the 11-11:30 time slot...Hello!! You are a local news anchor! No one cares!

Every time I see the news on channel 8 I get pissed off by this woman's existence. For some reason I continue to watch channel 8...I really don't mind the other anchors or even most of the reporters (don't even get me started on that Brad Edwards fella). And truth be told, I think I enjoy seeing them squirm in agony whenever she opens her beak just as I am squirming at home. In conclusion...I am a genious.

Gilbert...Lookey there!

Today was my last day of normal work at the crew. After today, I will only be working roll-outs which happen only once a month. It was anticlimactic and very wierd. It was really just a normal day, and then it was over and I left. I didn't even have a locker or a desk to clean out...5 years and I didn't have anything extra to bring home today. Check stubs! Shoot, I did have check stubs that I was meaning to pick up today. Oh well. Kelly and "crew" did buy me an awesome"Big Cookie" from Mrs. Field's, it was delicious! I will miss my days at the crew and even though I loved working stock, I had the most fun working this summer as a keyholder. It can get really boring working in the back and there's always something to do so I don't really get to goof off at all...plus it's no fun goofing off alone. So good luck Emily, I pass the torch to you, and "see you later" to the rest of the crew!

For the times that you wanna go and bust rhymes real slow...

I went out to Friday's tonight with a few girls from work. It was supposed to be my going away party...however, I'm not really going away and 4 people don't usually constitute a party. That's okay though, I had a lot of fun. When I arrived, Amber was holding down the fort alone...well not really alone, she had a behemoth drink to keep her company. Next Katie arrived and we promptly ordered up some starch. Emily was the last to arrive, and, true to Emily-style, ordered only a tall beer. We engaged in a little girl talk, a little work talk, and once conversation turned, as it sometimes does, to soft-core porn, we decided it may be time to wrap it up. We settled up and headed out the door, but not before we coerced our sneaky waiter to snap this super awesome photo of us (that is actually take 2...take 1 made one of us look a little older than we'd like). I strongly encourage everyone to have their going away party before they're actually going away. No one felt the pressure to stay longer than they would have liked (I think) and there were no mopey, sappy goodbyes...just good clean fun!

Gettin' it all figured out

This is the time of year when everyone seems to stop and take a good look at themselves. They pause and do some deep self-reflection about what the coming year could have in store for them in the way of self-improvement. This long time ritual is certainly not lost on me...so I think it's time that I ask myself some very important questions like "Who am I?" and "What am I doing with my life?" and "What kind of bra am I?"

Where ever will I go to have these questions aswered? Why to the same people that brought us this in-depth and accurate quiz of course!

Who am I?
Your Superhero Profile

Your Superhero Name is The Invisible Ghost
Your Superpower is Radiation
Your Weakness is Itching
Your Weapon is Your Electro Pitchfork
Your Mode of Transportation is Tricycle

What am I doing with my life?
You Are Sheryl Crow!

Down to earth with tons of creative energy
When you talk, everyone can relate to you
"Life springs eternal
On a gaudy neon street
Not that I care at all"

What kind of bra am I?
You Are a White Cotton Bra!

Practical, comfortable, and classic
You want your man to feel relaxed and himself with you
Your perfect guy is low maintenance and adaptable
And he makes you feel comfy and cozy too!

WOW! I feel much better...now I finally know the answers to all of my life's most pressing questions. I'm totally set for the year.

Pancakes make people happy!

Happy New Year! Yeah, it feels pretty much the same...like always. Stemshul and I celebrated by eating a delicious VI pizza and by watching You've Got Mail on TNT. We finished 2005 by watching the last 10 Most Unexpected TV Moments, then flipping between Dick Clark (too sad), Carson Daly (too sad for a much different reason), and Regis Philbin (tolerable). So here we are now in 2006 and hopefully many exciting things will happen this year. Exciting thing #1: Today's much anticipated Mario Kart Tournament! Hope to see you all there...I mean here.
