A day of shopping always makes me feel better. So, shortly after meeting my first grade team for the first time, they informed me that first grade has an annual play-hookey-and-go-shopping day the first week of December. I couldn't argue with tradition so I promptly found myself a sub. Today was our shopping day.
We met at a Fry's and carpooled our way out to Arizona Mills in a bright red Cadillac. Our first stop was the 5 & Diner for a spectacular breakfast. Well fed but hungry for deals we headed over to JC Penney. Not my personal favorite, but I did find some cute Christmas cards. The other gals (yes, they are all old enough to be my mother) needed to make a pit stop at the caddy to drop off their Penny's purchases before we could step foot inside the mall. We stopped at lots of T.J. Maxx style stores, and home stores, and card stores, and Christmas stores (all outlets). Around 2:30 we took a lunch break at the food court. I was ready to go at this point but they needed more bargains, so we carried on. I found an awesome shoe outlet store...I'll have to make it back there sometime. We also stopped at Animal Kingdom to ooh and ahh at the puppies.
After one more delivery to the caddy and trip back inside, they were finally done...these broads know how to shop! I came away from the experience with breakfast, Christmas cards, peanuts, licorice, a doggie santa hat, a doggie jingle bell necklace, lunch, and a Cherry Coke...less than $35. They filled the trunk of the caddy with packages. But I still had a lot of fun and saw a little bit more of Arizona.
