work drivel

When you have a semi-mindless job like retail, many things pop into you brain at work. Like how "is there anything I can grab for you?" sounds kinda dirty...or wondering how many miles you've walked in the store over the past 5.64 years...

Work's been rather slow this past week and I find myself not quite knowing what to do with this extra time. I give people random tasks to do or send them home early or try to make them take their breaks early just because we have extra people on the floor. Today I was colorizing sale and got so caught up in it that I missed most of my pre-closing routine. That's okay, it only means that instead of leaving half an hour early, we left on time...no thanks to the "browser" who came in at 8:59, wandered for 10 minutes, and then asked Kelli what time we close. When Kelli responded "9:00," she looked at her like she was stupid and said, "Oh! Well, you guys are closed then!" As the words "No shit." popped into my head, she proceeded to browse her way to the front doors, turn around, look at something else, and wander out the door. I followed a step behind her and locked the doors. Stupid bitch.
