Ok...so we went to see Transformers, it was fun, we had a good time, blah, blah, blah. We just returned home about 20 minutes ago and while Dave went to get the mail, I opened the door. To my surprise, it did not seem to be locked...now, I assumed the door was locked and so I turned the key so I can't be certain, but, we have a lock that is particularly sticky and it did not stick. Odd yes, but even more strange was the fact that our duvet cover and flat sheet were laying in a heap on the floor at the end of our bed while the pillows were left virtually untouched. When Dave came in he said he remembered locking the door and he did not pull the covers off the bed. Now, knowing full well that there are people who have keys to this apartment other than us, I begin to suspect that someone was in here. Dave thinks I'm crazy and believes that the dogs pulled the covers off. I attempted to recreate this scenario with poor results. I don't know why someone would do that and not take anything, but I feel like someone was in here and I don't like it! What do you think? I really don't believe the dogs could have pulled the covers to the floor like that. Maybe there's another explanation (reasonable or not) and I'm all ears.

Can you ask the apt complex to change the locks? Even if their is a fee, peace of mind is better than a few dollars.

you have to ask the question: why would some stranger willingly enter an apartment with two gigantic dogs and only remove the duvet cover and sheet? while the dogs are not exactly fierce, they bark enough to give the impression of ferocious animals. it seems very unlikely that someone would attempt to enter with those dogs anywhere near the apartment.
the only other explanation (and stay with me here) would be that your apartment complex has some sort of maid service and he/she/they came to your apartment by accident and realized their blunder after removing the duvet and sheet for washing. then they just left everything in a heap on the floor and ran out of there in fear that you might return armed and ready to kill them for erroneously entering your apartment. a maid or maids might not be afraid of dogs if they deal with them often enough.
all things being equal, you're probably crazy.

someone had sex in your bed and didnt make it. The dogs didnt attack because they thought mommy and daddy were in the bed again.
