Just after we moved in here we discovered (the hard way) that we need separate pool keys. Next day, we went to the office to retrieve them. Our leasing agent was sitting in the annoying guy's desk and in her desk was an even more annoying older lady. She attempted to jump on us in her own "helpful" way as soon as we walked in. We ignored her, turned and smiled at our leasing agent and promptly told her our problem...she apologized and got to work right away finding our pool keys. As I'd been to see her several times before that, we frequently talked about the weather. "It doesn't seem as hot today," I remarked casually. "Yeah," she said. "Definitely not as hot as the last couple of days." Everyone, it seemed, was content with this small amount of idle banter. Everyone except the dinosaur sitting behind us. "Oh it HAS to be hot!" We turned, confused, and looked at her. "Otherwise the monsoons won't come. It gets very hot and then right after July 4th that heat draws the monsoons in," she explained making what I can only assume she thought were meteorological gestures. The three of us smiled a smile that was meant to say "anyway", we grabbed our keys and left our poor leasing agent at the mercy of the dinosaur.
Well dinosaur lady, it's already July 6th and it's 103 degrees at 10 a.m. Your frickin' monsoon thunderstorms better get here soon!
