On our final day of travel when we entered Phoenix I found this great radio station...97.5 "The Valley's own, Star Lounge." It was awesome, jazz, standards, and swing all-day, every day. I am so happy on my drive home when I'm being serenaded by such smooth crooners. Yesterday I heard this great movie review that was rated not by stars, nor tacos, but out of a possible "5 ice cubes in a high ball glass". I knew I had found the right station. This morning I thought about switching it over to npr for a while, but then again, who needs the news when you've got Frank and Harry and Ella and Nat?
After a long week and an extra long day (I had to man the backwards bowling booth after school at the Fall Festival), I get in my truck ready to head home listening to the Valley's Lounge. Wait...what? (I check the station...sure enough 97.5, fm2, just where I left it) What? Is this? Wait...is she singing "say my name, say my name..."? Perhaps it's a commercial. "Actin' kinda shady, ain't callin' me baby..." This is a long commercial. "Why the sudden change..." Okay, what the hell...where's Harry..."say my name, say my name..." for God's sake, where's FRANK?!?!
Yup...they're gone. For yet another shitty "up-tempo blend of rhythmic hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today." This sucks.
