Okay, so I really hate stupid people...okay really I dislike most people. Anyway, tonight at the retail store where I work (yes...I work at the mall...deal with it) stupid people were all over. Apparently when it's huge sale time people think that they are entitled to be extra stupid. I must have had 30 calls asking whether I had a specific sale item, and 50% of those people wanted me to send them their 9.99 t-shirt because they were too frickin' lazy to drive 5 miles to the store and pick it up themselves. This is in addition to the many cheapos who came to jam up my cash register lines with their $200 returns and $7.49 price adjustments. Listen, if all you want is cheap crap then you need to go next door to "Forever Slutty".
Then, after I closed the doors and I thought I was safe, I realized that the stupidity had infiltrated the staff and was now lurking inside. So, I don't know about you, but if I were to accept a check as payment from a customer and accidentally ring it in as a cash payment, I think that I would probably tell someone about it. I would not lay the check in the big bills spot in the cash drawer (where checks definitely do not go), hand the customer a receipt, and go on my stupid, merry way. However, that's exactly what Suzy Q* did. Now, Suzy Q is older than me, 'smarter' than me, and 'better' than me (and everyone else) in every way. And she's worked at this store for over 6 months. So she either A: didn't want to be embarrassed in front of the customer, B: didn't want to ask someone for help, or C: doesn't give a shit and thinks that she's too good to even waste her time worrying about this little matter. I'm leaning toward C. If you can't stand to be managed by people half your age then you shouldn't work at the mall. But it's okay, she doesn't need this job...she lives in Ada...she's just here to have fun...you know, belittling all the peons who need to work for a living.
